Outside of the office, Gina enjoys long walks with a good audiobook and cheering on IU football and basketball. She enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children, and connecting with friends.

Nicki

With over 20 years of experience in the dental field, Nicki has spent her career helping patients improve their oral health and feel confident about their smiles. From a young age, Nicki knew she wanted to work in the dental industry, in high school she even shadowed in the building that is now home to Decatur Family Dentistry.

Nicki finds the most satisfaction in making a positive impact on her patients’ lives, helping them achieve optimal oral health which often correlates to boosting their self-esteem. Her dedication to patient care is evident in the relationships she builds and the trust she establishes with each individual she treats.

Outside of the office, Nicki enjoys relaxing with a good book, baking sweet treats, and exploring new places through travel. She enjoys spending time with her husband and is a proud mother of three children, two dogs, and two cats.

With her long-standing experience, genuine care, and warm personality, Nicki continues to be a valuable member of the Decatur Family Dentistry team, helping patients maintain their best smiles and overall well-being.

Chelsea

Chelsea is a dedicated and compassionate front office receptionist at Decatur Family Dentistry, with over 10 years of experience in the dental field, Chelsea originally trained as an Expanded Duty Functions Assistant, brings a wealth of knowledge and care to her current role.

What Chelsea finds most rewarding is helping patients feel comfortable and informed. She takes the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and ensure that everyone understands what’s happening every step of the way. Her passion for patient education and care makes her the perfect person to ask any last minute questions to before scheduling.

Chelsea believes that the key to success at Decatur Family Dentistry lies in teamwork. “Everyone cares about patient health, and we all help each other out,” she says. “We are constantly learning new tips and tricks to serve our patients in the best way possible.”

When she’s not at work, Chelsea enjoys crafting, making acrylic tumblers, reading, and spending quality time with her family. Having moved to the area a few years ago, Chelsea cherishes being close to her family, watching her kids make new friends, and getting involved in local activities. She and her husband have three children, two dogs, and one cat, and together, they enjoy bike rides, video games, and trying new foods.

Laurel

Laurel is the Office Manager at Decatur Family Dentistry, where her extensive knowledge of dental procedures and insurance makes her a great resource for both patients and staff. She finds it incredibly rewarding when she can help a patient fully understand the process—whether it’s explaining the details of a dental procedure or walking them through the intricacies of insurance billing. Laurel’s ability to simplify complex topics and make sure patients feel confident and informed is a hallmark of her care.

Her journey into dentistry was unexpected—she calls it a “fluke” that led to a rewarding career. With years of hands-on training from great mentors, Laurel has developed a deep understanding of the dental field, from patient care to the behind-the-scenes processes. She’s proud to be part of a team and she firmly believes that Decatur Family Dentistry is the best place for patients to receive care. “Everyone here gets along well, and I would never recommend going to another office,” she says.

Outside of work, Laurel is passionate about staying active and healthy. She enjoys yoga, working out, reading, and solving puzzles. Family is at the heart of her life—Laurel is married with four adult children, all of whom live within 20 minutes of her. She is also the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren. A devout Catholic, her family shares strong values and enjoys spending time together as a close-knit, faith-driven group.

Mary

Mary is a highly experienced dental assistant with nearly 40 years of dedicated service at Decatur Family Dentistry. Having spent her entire career here, Mary received her formal dental assistant degree but credits much of her expertise to Dr. Hammond, whose mentorship has been integral to her growth in the field. Over the years, she has become an indispensable part of the dental team, bringing compassion, kindness, and encouragement to every patient interaction.

What Mary enjoys most about her role is seeing the positive impact her care has on patients. “It’s so rewarding to watch people leave the office with smiles on their faces, knowing they’re happy with the care they’ve received,” she says. Having once been a scared child in the dental chair, Mary remembers how an assistant helped calm her down during a visit—an experience that inspired her to pursue a career in dentistry. Helping others and making them feel at ease has always been part of her nature, and she feels fortunate to have chosen a career that aligns so closely with her passion.

In her spare time, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, especially her sweet granddaughter. She also enjoys reading short stories, walking outdoors, singing on the praise team at church, and playing golf. A proud Decatur native, Mary loves living in her hometown, where she can go anywhere and always bump into people she knows.

Mary and her husband have two adult children, both of whom are married, and her family is the center of her life. She is grateful for the close relationships she shares with her loved ones and her community. Mary’s decades of experience and her genuine care for others make her an essential member of the Decatur Family Dentistry team, and she continues to be inspired by the difference she can make in patients’ lives every day.

Whittney

Whittney brings nearly 15 years of experience in the dental field to her current role as a front desk receptionist. She has spent the entirety of her time in the dental field here at Decatur Family Dentistry. Having spent much of her career as a dental assistant, Whittney’s transition to the front desk has allowed her to continue her passion for helping others, but now with a focus on making each patient’s visit smooth, pleasant, and efficient. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see patients leave with newfound confidence in their smiles, knowing she played a part in that journey.

Whittney’s love for dentistry began with her desire to help others, and she has found that Decatur Family Dentistry is the perfect place to nurture that passion. “The most rewarding part of my career here is working with such a wonderful group of people,” she says. “I’m truly grateful to be a part of this team.” Her positivity and dedication to patient care shine through in every interaction, making her a valued member of the team.

Outside of work, Whittney enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three kids. As a lifelong resident of the area, she appreciates the close-knit community that makes Decatur feel like home. “I can’t imagine living anywhere else,” she says, and she feels blessed to raise her family in such a welcoming and supportive environment.

Rachel

Rachel is the friendly face who will greet you when you walk into Decatur Family Dentistry. As a receptionist, she’s the first person you’ll encounter, and she’s dedicated to making every patient feel welcome and at ease. Although she’s new to the dental field, Rachel has quickly found that the most rewarding part of her role is talking with patients and helping them understand the importance of oral health. “I love getting to talk with people and learn about how important oral health is,” she shares.

Even though Rachel is just starting her journey in dentistry, she feels right at home with the team at Decatur Family Dentistry. “It’s so nice to work in such an encouraging environment,” she says. “Everyone is always quick to help when I need it.”

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family. She loves walking around downtown Decatur, cooking and baking for her loved ones, and expressing her creativity through music, painting, and drawing. Rachel is newly married and has three sisters who are her best friends. She’s also excited to have recently gained a brother, adopted from Vietnam, and loves spending time with him and her parents.

Rachel’s warm personality, eagerness to learn, and love for life make her a wonderful addition to the Decatur Family Dentistry team. Whether she’s greeting patients with a smile or helping them with their dental questions, Rachel is dedicated to ensuring everyone feels at home and well-cared for in the office.

Tiffany

Tiffany is an experienced Expanded Duty Dental Assistant with nearly 20 years in the dental field. She is passionate about helping patients feel better about their smiles and their overall oral health. Her interest in dentistry was sparked when she underwent extensive dental work as a child and received exceptional care from the dental assistants at the time. “The assistants who helped me back then made a huge difference in my experience, and that inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry,” she shares.

Tiffany’s extensive experience allows her to provide exceptional care to patients, and she finds great satisfaction in making people feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. Whether she’s assisting during procedures or calming patients nerves, her dedication to their well-being shines through in everything she does.

Outside of the office, Tiffany stays active by playing in a volleyball league and loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys traveling to new places, attending concerts, and exploring different cultures. Tiffany was born and raised in Decatur, and although she has moved away a couple of times, she’s glad to be back in her hometown. “Decatur is a wonderful community that always comes together when needed,” she says. Tiffany also loves seeing familiar faces come into the office, which makes her feel even more connected to the community she loves.

With her wealth of experience, compassionate care, and strong ties to the Decatur community, Tiffany is a valued member of the Decatur Family Dentistry team. She takes great pride in making sure every patient leaves with a brighter smile and a better understanding of their dental health.

Beth

With nearly 30 years of experience in dental hygiene, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and compassion to every patient she cares for. Having been a valued member of our team for over 20 years, she truly cherishes the opportunity to work closely with families and educate them as their dental needs evolve over time. For Beth, the best part of her job is the one-on-one care she provides and the relationships she builds with her patients.

She’s proud of the collaborative and supportive atmosphere within our practice, where laughter and teamwork are always in abundance. “Our team is amazing,” says Beth. “We work together and do our best to help one another throughout the day”.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys staying active at the gym, diving into mystery fiction novels, and indulging in online shopping and home improvement projects. A lifelong resident of Decatur, IN, she deeply appreciates the close-knit community, the leadership, the dedication of first responders, and the strong support for veterans.

Carol

With 37 years of experience in the dental field, Carol has worn many hats throughout her career. She’s worked as a dental assistant, a front desk receptionist, and now, in her current role, she’s behind the scenes helping to ensure everything runs smoothly by sterilizing instruments and turning over rooms efficiently, which in turn helps the team stay on track and ensures that patients are seen on time.

For Carol, working in the dental field has always been about more than just the technical aspects—it’s about the people. She has always enjoyed working with others and finds great joy in helping people smile. Hearing from patients who she sees around town say how much they appreciate Decatur Family Dentistry is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.

Carol describes Decatur Family Dentistry as a place where the team truly feels like family. “We all work well together, and we treat our patients like family because that’s how we want to be treated,” she explains.

Outside of work, Carol enjoys spending time in her garden, canning, and planting flowers. She also loves taking walks and enjoys working outside whenever she can. Finding parts for her husband and sons’ hobbies on Marketplace is another way she spends her free time. Having worked in the Adams County area for many years, Carol feels deeply connected to the community. She values the kindness and care that define the area, making it a wonderful place to raise a family.

Carol treasures spending time with her family, whether they’re hiking trails, playing board games, or simply relaxing in nature at a cabin. Her warmth, dedication, and love for her family and community make her an integral part of Decatur Family Dentistry, and it’s clear she brings those same qualities to every aspect of her life.

Amanda

As our front office receptionist, she loves the opportunity to meet and interact with patients, providing them with a warm and welcoming environment right from the start. For Amanda, the best part of her job is creating a positive first impression and helping our patients feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk through the door.

When she’s not at the office, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She’s a big fan of sports, especially football and hockey, and is a die-hard supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Her hobbies also include working on puzzles and going thrifting.

Kaylie

Kaylie is a dedicated and compassionate dental assistant at Decatur Family Dentistry with a lifelong passion for helping people. From a young age, she knew she wanted a career that allowed her to make a positive difference in others’ lives. She confirmed her interest after shadowing her dental hygienist. Seeing firsthand how the team worked together to create confident, healthy smiles was eye-opening for Kaylie, and knew dentistry was the right path for her.

What Kaylie enjoys most about her work is seeing the impact a healthy, confident smile can have on a person’s life. She finds immense joy in creating a comfortable environment for patients, ensuring they feel relaxed and cared for at every visit. Helping individuals overcome any dental anxieties and watching their confidence grow brings her great satisfaction and pride.

Outside of work, Kaylie values quality time with her family and friends. Bowling is one of her favorite pastimes, offering a fun way to bond with loved ones.
